a gang leader who swindled people in a Ponzi scheme linked to nonexistent taxicab investments was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve by Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court in China. Chen Lihan also had all his personal property confiscated. Four others were sentenced to jail terms. In the swindle, which ran from March 1998 to December 2007, 165 victims lost a total of 160 million yuan.
