CHINA: DEATH SENTENCE FOR PAIR WHO KILLED EIGHT IN CRIME SPREE

two men were sentenced to death after going on a nationwide crime spree in which they killed eight people, including a two year old boy, state press said. Li Chun and Wei Xiaohui, both aged about 24, received their sentences at the Zhuhai intermediate court in southern China, Xinhua news agency said. They were convicted of murdering eight people and committing 16 robberies between April 2005 and September 2006 in the four provinces of Guangdong, Shandong, Henan and Anhui, the report said. Neither defendant showed any emotion as their sentences were read, the report said.
