CHINA: DEATH SENTENCES FOR PAIR WHO KILLED RIVAL

Li Shuangjian, a woman from Anhui Province in China, and a friend were sentenced to death for killing and dismembering a woman who had an affair with Li's lover, a court said. Jin Benxuan, a man from the same province, was asked by Li to help her to entrap and kill the victim. His death penalty was suspended for two years, according to a verdict given by the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court. Li, living in Baoshan District, had been in love with a man, surnamed Pei, for two years before he met his dancing partner, the victim, surnamed Zhou, last October. After finding out that the dancing partners were not only close in the ballroom but were also having an affair, Li decided to kill the woman. She asked Jin to help her and carried out the murder on the evening of February 2.
