China executed five members of a violent gang that murdered 21 people over the eight years in China's northernmost province of Heilongjiang

China executed five members of a violent gang that murdered 21 people over the eight years in China's northernmost province of Heilongjiang.
Former city prosecutor Jiang Yingku and four others were executed by firing squad following convictions for heading up a gang and committing murder, robbery and assault, China's official Xinhua News Agency said.
Jiang and his gang killed 21 people, including at least two city prosecutors, in a brutal spree that lasted from 1993 to 2001 in Heilongjiang's Harbin and Zhaodong cities.
All the victims' bodies were dismembered and burnt, Xinhua said.
Jiang killed three of his followers for fear their crimes might be exposed, it said.
