CHINA EXECUTES THREE FOR DRUG DEALING

three men, including a foreigner, were executed in China's southeast Fujian Province for drug dealing. Taiwan national Shih Jin-fan was executed for attempting to smuggle 1,519 grams of heroin and 9,562 grams of the drug "ice", from Fujian to Taiwan on Feb 17 last year, said Xia Dongying, vice president of the Fujian Provincial Higher People's Court. His accomplice Pan Wun-zong, also from Taiwan, was sentenced to death with a two year reprieve, meaning his sentence could be commuted to life imprisonment for good behaviour. The death sentence was handed down on July 10 at first instance and upheld on Nov 25 at second and also on last instance, Xia said.
Chen Bin was executed for selling 795.45 grams of heroin to drug dealers and addicts on 191 occasions in Fujian's Yong'an and Sanming between 2001 and June 2005, Xia said. Chen was sentenced to death early this year. The judge did not give details about the case of the third executed man, Du Shaohui, other than that he was a drug dealer.
