CHINA. FIVE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR HEROIN TRAFFICKING
in its initial trial, the Haikou City Intermediate People's Court in Hainan Province, China, sentenced Wang Chunliang, Zhou Bing, Huang Bin, LI Haichun and Wu Xiaobo to death for trafficking in more than six kg of narcotics.

in its initial trial, the Haikou City Intermediate People's Court in Hainan Province, China, sentenced Wang Chunliang, Zhou Bing, Huang Bin, LI Haichun and Wu Xiaobo to death for trafficking in more than six kg of narcotics. The court sentenced nine others involved in the case to jail terms ranging from two to 15 years. It was alleged that on 14 April 2004, Wang asked Xie Xiaogang to purchase 700 grams of heroin. Xie asked Huang to obtain the drugs from in Haikou city. Wang also illegally possessed an imitation "0.43 submachine gun and two “0.59 pistols. No further details were given.
