CHINA. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR ROBBERY AND MURDER

the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court, China, sentenced Lu Shaoping, a Hubei Province native, to death for robbery and murder. His accomplice Zeng Zhaoli was given a sentence of 14 years.

It was reported that Lu tricked a man surnamed Wang into going to a hotel by saying he wanted to talk about a business deal. When Wang arrived at the hotel with 26,000 yuan (US$3,210) in cash, Lu and Zeng stole the money by stabbing him. Wang died of massive hemorrhages.
