China put to death 10 violent criminals and drug traffickers, state media reported.
Seven convicted criminals, all members of the same 36-member gang, were executed after their sentences were read out at a court in Xinmi city, central Henan province, the Dahe Bao newspaper said. The gang were found guilty of committing a series of crimes, including armed robberies and gang rapes, the paper said. Also on the same day, a court in Guangzhou, the capital of southern Guangdong province, announced the death sentences of three criminals, who were immediately sent to the execution ground. Two were convicted of drug trafficking, while the third had stabbed to death his former girlfriend, the New Express daily reported on its website.
