the Shenzhen Municipal Intermediate Court in China sentenced Li Yi to death and deprived him of political rights for life and forfeited his property. Yi kidnapped a 10-year-old boy surnamed Wu on February 1, 2003, to extort ransom from his parents. However the boy struggled and Yi suffocated him with a quilt.
