Wu resigned and worked at another profit-oriented training school. He promoted the new employer's business by claiming the courses were offered by Zhang's school. Zhang gave 200,000 yuan (US$ 24,700) to Wang Yunhong, who murdered Wu in 2001. Wang was also sentenced to death. They received a two-year reprieve.
