CHINA. FORMER CHINA CONSTRUCTION BANK OFFICIAL SENTENCED TO DEATH IN FUJIAN

in its final trial, the Fujian Higher Provincial People's Court sentenced Yang Song, former vice-president of China Construction Bank's Nanping City branch, to death with a two year reprieve on charges of corruption, embezzlement of public funds and bribe-taking. He was also deprived of all political rights for life and had 300,000 yuan of personal property confiscated. The court also sentenced Chen Meizhen, female, former vice-president of the Construction Bank’s Shaowu Branch, to 20 years imprisonment, on charges of corruption and embezzlement of public funds.
