China's Supreme People's Court announced that Lin Laibao from Lufeng city in Guangdong Province; Bing Guigang and Xie Zhongying from Huishui County in Guizhou Province; and Liang Kunmin from Suiyang County in Guizhou Province, were guilty of trafficking in women and children. The four were executed by order of the local courts. Lin was first sentenced to death on July 8, 1999 by the Intermediate People's Court of Shanwei for smuggling 14 women, Bing and Xie were convicted of trafficking a total of 17 women and 13 children, while Liang was convicted of trafficking five women, raping two, and molesting one of them.
