Chinese traffic police officer Tan Zhiwei was sentenced to death for embezzling 20 million yuan (HK$18.8 million) in public funds.Tan, former finance department chief of the Naning Traffic Police Branch in Guangxi, was also found guilty of buying favours from his seniors and bribing investigators in a bid to cover up the scandal, Chinanews.com reported.
