Hill, 57, had his 1990 1st-degree murder conviction and death sentence overturned. Faced with a prospect of a new trial, the man accepted an agreement that allowed him to plead guilty to 2nd-degree murder and be sentenced to time already served. Hill's defense attorney Rick Williams, said his client still maintains his innocence in the June 18, 1989 death of Dale Edmundson. However, Williams said Hill is terminally ill and took the plea agreement so he could be with his family.
