Cody James Martinez, 23, was sentenced to death. Pima County Superior Court Judge Howard Fell then ordered Martinez, be turned over to the state Department of Corrections to be executed by injection for the June 12, 2003 murder of Francisco Aguilar, 19. Martinez was convicted last week of kidnapping and 1st-degree murder in Aguilar’s death.
