Croatian President Stjepan Mesic met the Libyan ambassador to Croatia to discuss how Croatia could help solving the problem of the five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor sentenced to death in Libya after they were convicted of deliberately infecting 426 Libyan children with the HIV virus.
"We've mentioned the problem of the Bulgarian nurses and the Palestinian doctor and discussed what Croatia could do," Mesic told reporters.
During his recent visit to Croatia, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Isak Pasi requested Croatia's assistance in solving the problem, given Croatia's "extremely good" relations with Libya.
