Dawit Yohanes, the Speaker of the House of People's Representatives called upon the international community to condemn the atrocities being committed against Ethiopian civilians by the Eritrean government at a "regional seminar of experts on the prevention of ethnic and racial conflicts in Africa". He said: "Since the internationally acknowledged aggression against our country, our nationals have been tortured, summarily executed, forcibly expelled en masse and herded in concentration camps in Eritrea."
