Espada was guilty of capital murder in the Feb. 29, 2004 murder of Sandra Ramos, 29, and the March 2, 2004 murder of Luther "Luke" Scott, 30.
In separate confessions unveiled during the trial, Espada admitted he killed Scott out of revenge for having been fired 2 weeks beforehand, and he stated he killed Ramos 2 days earlier when he broke into the wrong apartment looking for Scott.
379th District Judge Bert Richardson formally pronounced the sentence.
