DEATH PENALTY. MARCO PANNELLA'S HUNGER STRIKE TO BECOME HUNGER AND THIRST STRIKE FROM WEDNESDAY MAY 30

Marco Pannella, Sergio D'Elia and the seven other top radical figures and activists committed to an indefinite hunger strike since April 16 have once again addressed Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi and the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Massimo D'Alema:
"We wish to support the initiative taken by the Italian Government in relation to the universal moratorium on capital executions, once again endangered by the European Council's unfair behaviour. There are only very few days left to call the General Assembly and to submit and vote for the resolution for the universal moratorium of capital executions. For this reason our initiative will progressively take the form of a total hunger and thirst strike, starting from May 30 at midnight with Marco Pannella."
