Despite their appeals, two Hong Kong men were executed for smuggling 1kg of heroin each in their part of the operation.
Xinhua reported that the Guangdong Higher People's Court rejected the appeals of Ting Yuen-ming and Ho Kwong-fat, upholding the death sentences delivered earlier by Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court.
Ting was arrested by mainland Customs officers at Lowu checkpoint on January 23, 2001while Ho was caught with the drug on November 21, 2000, at the border.
