Director of the Public Security Bureau of Lucheng District, Wenzhou, in East China's Zhejiang Province, was sentenced to death for taking bribes and owning a huge amount of property of unkown sources.
According to the Wenzhou Intermediate People's Court, which handed down the sentence, Wang Tianyi took 1.84 million yuan ( about 221,687 U.S. dollars) and 10,000 U.S. dollars in bribes, and could not explain the source of more than 14.12 million yuan (about 1.7 million U.S. dollars)-worth of property.
