Former police officer Wang Luxiong and five gang members were given the death sentence for engaging in triad activities, the China News Service said.Wang, formerly an officer of the Haikou police bureau, in Hainan province, was found guilty of being the ringleader of a triad group that carried out a series of kidnappings, which resulted in one death and left three people seriously injured. The gang also ran underground casinos and loanshark operations.
