District Judge Lana McDaniel read the unanimous jury's decision that Licho Escamilla, 20, be sentenced to death for the death of Officer Christopher Kevin James, 34, on Nov. 25, 2001. He was convicted of capital murder. Mr. Escamilla was also charged with the Nov. 8 killing of Michael Torres, 26, in West Dallas.
