Divid Hicks, 38, black, was put to death by lethal injection. Hicks had been convicted of having sexually assaulted and then killed his grandmother of 87, Ocolor Hegger on 25th April 1988. He was the third person to be executed in the State during the year, No 202 since the State resumed executions in 1974. He was the eighth to be executed in the U.S. during the year and No 606 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
