Do Van Thao, a 24-year-old unemployed man, was sentenced to death by firing squad in Vietnam after being convicted of killing and robbing an elderly woman. Do Van Thao was found guilty by the Ho Chi Minh-City People's Court of stabbing to death his 64-year-old victim at her home on May 16, 2003 and stealing her television. He was arrested two days later by police.
