another Domanican Minister of Government is throwing his support behind the death penalty. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced recently that Dominica has no intentions of abandoning the death penalty. Public Service Minister of Public Utilities, Energy and Ports Charles Savarin argued that the death penalty should not be eliminated, but rather let it serve as an option. "I believe that the courts should be able to decide in all of the circumstances, what the punishment should be for the crime of murder." The death penalty has not been enforced in Dominica for over 20 years.
