Douglas County District Court Judge Paul King sentenced Edward Montour Jr. to death for killing a corrections officer last year.
Montour, 36, pleaded guilty to 1st-degree murder for the fatal bludgeoning of Sgt. Eric Autobee, 23, with a heavy industrial soup ladle in the kitchen of the Limon Correctional Facility.
Montour killed Taylor, his 11-week-old daughter, on March 31, 1997, because he "was tired of his wife and child." The baby suffered a fractured skull, a broken right leg, 9 broken ribs, a broken elbow and massive internal bleeding.
