Dozens of Palestinian who collaborated with Israel have been killed by fellow Palestinians during 17 months of ongoing Palestinian-Israeli fighting, most gunned down at night.
Others are in held in Palestinian Authority prisons, often sentenced after trials that last only a few hours. At least seven collaborators are known to be on death row in Palestinian jails.
Only Palestinian Authority president Yasser Arafat can approve their execution. Many of the collaborators are suspected of having helped Israel carry out killings of suspected Palestinian militants.
