Du Phuoc Hung, 21, was sentenced to death by firing squad in Vietnam for murder and the destruction of private property following a failed love affair. Hung was found guilty by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court on of setting fire to the house of his former girlfriend, where 20 people were sleeping, on November 17, 2003. The father of Hung's ex-lover was killed in the blaze, while the house was badly damaged. Hung was arrested shortly after the attack, which occurred after his girlfriend broke up with him on the advice of her parents.
