Le Linh Liem, a 35-year-old man, was sentenced to death by firing squad in Vietnam after being convicted of stabbing to death a woman and stealing her possessions. Liem was sentenced to death by the People's Court of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong after a one-day trial for the murderof the 49-year-old woman on February 28, 2004.
Liem, who was unemployed at the time, broke into her house in the Duc Trong district when she was out. But while he was rummaging through her possessions she returned, prompting him to attack her with his knife. He was arrested two days after the murder.
