On January 21, 2020 five prisoners from Zagazig Prison were executed: Muhammad Muhammad Abdul Aziz; Muhammad Mustafa Muhammad Ali; Muhammad Ahmad Badawi Ayyad; Husam Abbas Ali; Ashraf Amin Muhammad Faraj. The executions took place in the presence of a representative of the Endowment and the Attorney General.
