MEPs said that rather than a military trial, al-Nashiri should instead be given a fair civilian trial in accordance with international standards of the rule of law.
Al-Nashiri was charged with murder and terrorism for his alleged leading role in the October 12, 2000, attack on the USS Cole in Yemen.
