Federal and state law enforcement officials fear that a recent Mexico Supreme Court ruling may hamper prosecution of more than 100 U.S. fugitives now in Mexico.Mexico's top court ruled Oct. 4 that Mexican residents cannot be extradited if they are charged with crimes in other countries and could receive life sentences. The ruling could jeopardize the extradition of about 55 U.S. fugitives jailed in Mexico and about 100 others believed living there, said U.S. Department of Justice officials.
