Five people were sentenced to death for the murder of Charles Rutinduka, a genocide survivor killed on 26 November 2003, in Kaduha, Gikongoro Province

Five people were sentenced to death for the murder of Charles Rutinduka, a genocide survivor killed on 26 November 2003, in Kaduha, Gikongoro Province. Those sentenced to death were Celestin Akimana, who initiated the murder promising to pay 500,000 Rwandan francs (830 US dollars) to Edward Karemera, Evaliste Kagenzi, Felix Nzeyimana and Aphrodis Bucyeye for killilng Rutinduka.It was alleged that Akimana feared the victim would testify against him in a genocide trial.
