Four drug traffickers were executed by firing squad in Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam, court officials said.
The four convicted drug dealers, Tran Van Nghia, Do Ngoc Hung, Nguyen Hai Son and Tran Thanh Tuan, aged between 30 and 51, were executed at the Thu Duc firing range in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, they said.
They were sentenced to death in July 2000 for trafficking in more than five kilograms (11 pounds) of heroin. Under Vietnam's tough anti-narcotics laws, anyone found in possession of 300 grams or more of heroin or more than 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of opium may face execution.
