Four gang members were sentenced to death for murder, kidnapping, robbery, and illegal detention of other citizens.
The ringleader of the gang, Li Zhengguang, committed and organised a series of crimes in northeast and north China over a number years, and killed six people in Beijing since 1999, local court officials said.
Li was sentenced to death, as were Zheng Xianghao, Chen Hongguang and Zhu Qinghua.
Another 11 gang members were sentenced to jail-terms ranging from two to 20 years and life imprisonment.
