Four lawmakers of the opposition Grand National Party (GNP) visited the Chinese embassy to protest Beijing's failure to give Seoul prior notice of Spetmeber's execution of a Korean national convicted of drug-trafficking.
The lawmakers, including Rep. Ahn Sang-soo, chairman of the GNP's Human Rights Committee, delivered a statement reading: "We feel great concern and anger over the fact that the Chinese government neglected diplomatic practices by not notifying the Korean government of its arrest, investigation and trial of the Korean citizen and that the Chinese government notified Seoul of his execution one month after.
"We sternly protest China's violation of Korean people's human rights," they said.
The opposition lawmakers called for the Chinese government to make an appropriate apology for its attitude and neglect.
