GAZA: PALESTINIAN 'SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING'

a court in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip has sentenced a man from Beit Lahiya to death by hanging after he was convicted of killing a child, a Palestinian human rights group said.
Zahi Abdul Rahman Al-Masri, 32, was convicted of the willful killing of Samah Sofian Al-Shamali, 9, on in December 2004, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights said in a statement expressing grave concern over the continued application of the death penalty in the occupied Palestinian territories.
