Doyi, from the Ghana Branch of Amnesty International urged Ghana to abolish capital punishment from the statute books. “The Death Penalty to us is outmoded as far as human rights are concerned. It is on record that countries like the USA that maintains this heinous law on her books still leads in crime rate in the whole world so, what is the use?” he asked. “If the state kills somebody who has also killed another isn't the same murder?”
