Ghassan Touma, former Lebanese Forces security chief, and Etienne Saqr, the leader of the Guardians of the Cedars militia, were both sentenced to death in absentia. They were also stripped of their civil rights. They were convicted by the Military Tribunal of having had contacts with Israel and forming a group to undermine the state's authority.
