Gov. Don Siegelman has announced a package of crime bills he wants the Legislature to pass during the regular session. The governor's plan would give judges and juries the option of giving a death sentence to repeat sexual offenders when the victim was 12-years-old or younger. Siegelman said he also supports a bill sponsored by Rep. Perry Hooper Jr., R-Montgomery, that would make murder by terrorism a death penalty offense.
