Hasan Ahmed Hejazi, 37, from Jabalia refugee camp, was shot dead by three masked gunmen. On January 12, the Hamas movement issued a statement indicating that Hejazi had been killed by mistake by its members. Hamas stated it took responsibility for the mistake. It is worthy to note that Hijazi was a PNA National Security officer as well as a member of the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
