Hong Kong resident Cheung Tin-shung and mainlander Cheung Siu-ngan were sentenced to death by the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court for trafficking in drugs. Another Hong Kong resident, Cheung Wai-yiu, was also handed the death penalty, which was suspended for two years. They were charged with trafficking 14 kilos of heroin into Shenzhen from Guangzhou on August 25, 2000.
