Peoples, 48, died at 6:27 p.m. He was convicted in December 1983 in the July 6, 1983 killing of Paul G. Franklin and his wife, Judy Choron Franklin, both 34, and their 10-year-old son, Paul.
Peoples was arrested shortly after the killings after attempting to sell the car stolen to the family.
Peoples becomes the 4th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Alabama, and the 39th in the USA.
