In Columbia, at the Capital Punishment Facility at Broad River Correctional Institution, Jason Scott Byram, 38, was executed at 6:15 p.m. for the death of Julie Johnson, 36, in May 1993. Byram was convicted in 1995. Byram becomes the 3rd condemned inmate to be put to death in South Carolina this year and the 24th in the USA.
