in Dothan, a Houston County jury recommended a death sentence for a man who was tried a 2nd time for the April 1994 killing of his wife.
Wednesday, jurors on a 10-2 vote said Bobby Baker Junior should die by lethal injection for the murder of Tracy Baker. Baker was originally convicted and sentenced to die in 1994, but the Alabama Supreme Court overturned the conviction the following year. Justices ruled jurors should not have been allowed to hear hearsay evidence of prior domestic violence incidents involving Baker and his wife.
Circuit Judge Lawson Little will sentence Baker at a later date.
