In Huntsville, Marcus Cotton was executed this evening
In Huntsville, Marcus Cotton was executed this evening. Cotton, 29, was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m. Cotton, 29, was convicted of murder for gunning down Gil Epstein, 27, a Fort Bend County assistant prosecutor during a robbery attempt. Epstein was shot in 1996. Cotton becomes the 8th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas.
