In November, speaking at the Third Committee of the General Assembly, Slovenia's representative welcomed any progress towards the restrictive use of capital punishment with a view to its final abolition. "In that respect we are encouraged by the fact that both international criminal tribunals as well as the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court exclude capital punishment from the penalties that can be imposed," he said.
