in Panama City, Circuit Judge Michael Overstreet issued a death sentence for Robert Bailey, convicted of killing a police officer during a traffic stop.
Bailey, 24, shot Police Sgt. Kevin Kight, 34, in March 2005 on Panama City Beach.
Bailey, who was on parole out of Wisconsin for an armed burglary, shot Kight because he believed the officer was preparing to arrest him and return him to prison.
A jury recommended 11-1 a death sentence on February 16.
