Frank McCray, 47, denies he beat, raped and the strangled Chestene "Tina" Cummins on May 21, 1987, but the Maricopa County jury disagreed and convicted him on Nov. 14. The same jury imposed the death sentence today.
McCray was serving an 18-year sentence for a 1992 kidnapping and sexual assault when his DNA was matched with evidence collected at the Cummins crime scene.
